New Standards Applicable to Hong Kong Toys and Children's Products

On 15 January 2016, the Hong Kong Toys and Children's Products Safety Ordinance (Amendment of Schedules 1 and 2) Notice 2016 which specified the new updates of standards applicable to toys and children’s products selling in Hong Kong was published on the Hong Kong Gazette. The new and applicable standards shall be effective on 1 October 2016. Manufacturers, importers, wholesalers and retailers are required to ensure toys comply with all applicable requirements contained in any one of safety standards in Schedule 1 and the listed children’s products on Schedule 2 comply with any one of the applicable standards before putting the products in the Hong Kong market...
