Wall Covering – More than Decoration

It is a general misunderstanding that installation of wall covering is purely for decorative purposes. In fact, wallpapers act like the skin of human with functional properties, providing a building’s interior the protection it needs in a long term. This is particularly true when it comes to offices, restaurants, retail shops and etc., where walls experience human traffic and constant damage. As a result, strong, durable, lightfast, colourfast, scratchproof and impact-resistant wall coverings may provide decent defense against these problems. Hong Kong Standards and Testing Centre (STC) offer standard classification, based on ASTM F793, to recognize whether certain wallpaper is designed primarily for decorative effect or achieving high degree of serviceability.
